Call me lucky. Call me grateful!
So, I was cruising through my favorite artists' blogs, the usual routine every few days or so, and I come across a give away on DJ Pettit's blog. I have purchased her work on etsy before, seen her marvelousness at Art Unraveled, and I have slobbered over my desk looking at her website enough times to know this was probably just a dream I was having. So, I get a stick and poke myself, and discover it was not a dream at all. So, I entered knowing full well, that would be the end of it, but fun to pretend all the same. THEN I got a message from Kelly Kilmer accusing me of winning Kelly's prize. What? Nope, I checked DJ's blog again which said Jane Eileen had won, no mention of me taking Kelly's prize. Silly girl. Anyway, I sent DJ my mailing address as fast as I could and today the motherlode arrived, more than 80 pieces of happiness in clever packaging: big, bigger, teenie tiny, on fabric, on paper, on canvas, on magnet, one with real stitches in it sewn to a button card. I am one lucky girl, but I am also VERY grateful that there are amazing people in this world that not only have big talent but also have big hearts. YOU made my day, DJ. Thanks from the bottom of my heart.

Rolodex Heaven
I think I am in Rolodex heaven. I don't remember where the idea came from originally, but I sat on it for a long time. When Penney started her group, I knew it was time to bring rolodex swapping to life. So, in her group, people are allowed to send in ten cards per month and get 10 back. The theme for this month was black and white. The cards are amazing, and they just look so cool in my spin around rolodex. They don't even try to jump off the tracks. For my design, I did a cityscape with all black and white, of course. The little tab that has the word white on it is showing from the card behind mine, a part of her design. I plan to go back and decorate the "A" divider card in some way to announce the theme so it will be more exciting than the boring blue. I will continue doing a new divider card for each theme. I can't wait 'til this puppy is full!

My Favorite Piece of Art
This blog is supposed to be all about my art, not a diary of my life. I just decided that when I created it, but isn't a human just like a piece of art, especially when she looks like this? This is my one and only grandchild, although she is soon to be a big sister which will double my joy. She is just so stinkin' cute, I had to share.
Valentine inchies
The ever so kind Marylin Huskamp has a Yahoo! inchie group, and she let me hostess a swap there. These are the inchies I received. Most of them are ones group participants and Marylin are getting back. A few are special ones participants made for me as hostess gifts. Not everyone did all of theirs exactly alike either, so what people get back might vary slightly. I l . o . v . e . inchies, so I am happy to add these to my collection.

Valentine Swap Revealed
In a previous post, I mentioned that I was asked to participate in a Valentine's exchange in which each participant decorated 3 boxes and put goodies inside which had to include a handmade item. These are the boxes I made using real wooden cigar boxes, the goodies, a closeup of one of my handmade items, and what each box looked when it was opened. My handmade items were domino pendants which you can see in the photo as well as in another post and fabric and lace notepads that contain lots of funky papers I cut up just for these gifts. I hope everyone likes them. It sure was exciting making them.
